Clearing Browser Cache After a GovHost Update

When GovHost deploys a system update, your browser may still hold older cached files. Clearing this data ensures you load the newest version of the application and prevents display or login issues.

This quick procedure walks you through the steps.

When to Use This Procedure

Run this process after every GovHost Cloud Application update or anytime you notice unusual behavior in the web application (missing buttons, layout issues, login loops, etc.).

Steps to Clear Browser Cache

1. Confirm the update is complete

Your system administrator or GovHost support will notify you when the update has finished.

2. Open the browser data clearing menu

With the GovHost application open:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
This opens your browser’s Clear browsing data window.

3. Select the correct settings

Set the following options:

  • Time range: All time
  • Check only these two boxes:
    • Cookies and other site data
    • Cached images and files

All other checkboxes can remain unchecked.

4. Clear the data

Click Clear now or Delete data, depending on your browser.

This may briefly sign you out of other websites — that’s normal.

5. Log back into GovHost

Return to the GovHost login page and sign in.
You should now be running the latest version of the application.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the application still looks incorrect, close and reopen your browser.
  • If issues persist, try clearing cache a second time or switch to a different supported browser.
  • Contact GovHost Support (support @govhost.com) if you continue to experience problems.
